Ravens cheerleader, beloved coach killed in motorcycle crash

A newly-chosen member of the Baltimore Ravens coed cheerleading squad was killed in Frederick, Maryland, on the morning of July 5 when his motorcycle collided with an automobile. The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The young man, who was a beloved cheerleading coach for the Infinity All-Stars, was driving his motorcycle northbound on U.S. 15 when he collided with a Volkswagen Jetta that was turning left from U.S. 15 south. The Vienna, Virginia, resident was on his way to Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania to visit some of his Infinity cheerleaders on their last day at the camp for cheering, gymnastics and action sports. The general manager of Infinity said that the coach wanted to provide support and see what his cheerleaders had learned.

The coach had just recently made the Ravens cheerleading squad, and would have started his career as an NFL cheerleader this fall. He planned to continue his job as a cheerleading coach, a position he had held for about two years. He had previously turned down a cheerleading spot with the Ravens to focus on his coaching job. The Ravens squad continued to encourage him, and, spurred on by the team's Super Bowl win this year, he tried out again and this time accepted their offer.

The woman who was driving the car involved in the crash was not seriously injured. No charges have yet been filed, and the crash is still being investigated. Often, with car accidents, it is not immediately apparent who was at fault. Regardless of who is responsible, it is important for anyone involved in an accident where there are injuries or death to retain legal counsel. An attorney who has experience successfully representing people who have been involved in vehicle collisions can ensure that your rights are protected, and if the other person is at fault, that you are fairly compensated for injuries and damage.
